One of the top activities do online is shopping, and people shop for all sorts of things ranging from big electronics
, to clothes
, to food
, to even car
and automotive items. In fact, according to an Independent Researcher, around 83% of people in the US shop online or have shopped online at least once in their life! I don’t know about you, but this seems like a really high percentage! One of the best things about shopping online is the sales that you wouldn’t regularly find in offline stores. I am a true eBay and Amazon shopper, if I can’t find something I want for the price I want, I immediately visit these other sites because I know for a fact that someone, somewhere will always have it for cheaper! I’m not a penny pincher, but when you can save a few bucks, why wouldn’t you?!?
If you really are interested in automotive type shops online, there are several million stores on search engines like Google and Yahoo to search through. These sites in particular offer anything from novelty items, on up to premium ranged blu-ray systems, rims, CD players, XM Radio
. You name it you can find it. You should be aware that on some of these sites you will have to pay shipping and handling but for most people its worth it, rather than visiting a store offline and buying that specific item. It’s a convenience type of option, and for those of us that live in a quick whip and like things to be easy and quick this is terrific! According to a news release done by Nielsen Online in the year 2007, convenience, rather than price is usually what drives people to shop online rather than offline, especially during holiday seasons. We all know how crazy stores can get around Christmas Time, and this is a great way to forfeit that holiday rush. No waiting in lines. No bumping into people. No carrying a thousand bags around! Sounds great!
When Nielsen did that study they also took stats on why else online shopping was chosen, and out of the thousand people that took the survey these are the results:
81% – Convenience – Capable of shopping online day or night, Saturday morning, Monday afternoon before the kids get home from school or Wednesday night it doesn’t matter
77% – Saving time – These shopping sites are made with YOU the buyer in mind
61% – Comparison Shopping – Most of these sites allow you to compare several items at once for prices, reviews, and options
56% – Finding things easily – Shopping sites online are VERY user-friendly. Things such as search boxes, categories, prices, and photos are incorporated to make shopping easier than ever before!
Obviously from the stats above, shopping online is, has, and always will be a tremendous activity between consumers and the like! Come on admit it, you have spent a few hours in front of your computer or laptop in your jammies shopping for the latest gadgets, clothing, and technology items!
