Fifteen years ago, a very small amount of people had computers, and half of those people didn’t even have Internet connections. The World Wide Web was a new concept to a lot of people. Now a days, almost everyone no matter their age, sex, race, location, income, language has a connection to the Internet in one way or another. Either through computers, cell phones, PDAs, laptops etc.


You can buy, sell, receive, and give an array of products, ideas and services online. Free movies and music are one of the larger services used by people online. There’s two main ways to get free movies or shows online. The first way is to get a file sharing program, or to find a bit torrent site. The second way is to find a site that hosts free movies and TV shows. I prefer the ladder personally. File sharing programs allow you to download a plethora of free movies readily available at the tip of your fingers. You download the program, connect to the Internet, and are served with millions of people just waiting for you to download their files. But with this also comes a problem.


A lot of these programs are unsafe, you can have people connecting to you, people you don’t know. And some of these files you downloaded that you thought were supposed movies, are laced with virus’s. On top of that, since you the requester/downloader are getting these *free movies, you are bypassing a lot of legalities. Legalities which are made not to be broken. If you get caught, you could serve jail time or even get sued. I don’t know about you, but this makes me uncomfortable. And though I may or may not agree with it, I would rather not take the chance, and find my movies elsewhere.


On the other hand there are free movie sites, these are sites in which you visit and can watch the movies literally at the push of a button. These sites simply set up a site on a very large server, upload the movies, and let you the viewer watch them. So how do these free movie sites make money? How are they able to provide thousands of movies and not charge a single cent? Advertisements. If you’re ever on one of these free movie sites, check the side/bottom/top of the page. Chances are you’ll find at least one banner, a few paid links, maybe some “content” ads.


There’s absolutely no need to PAY for a service that allows you to watch movies online. If they do ask for a fee or charge you anything, go elsewhere. If you search out the keyword “free movie sites” for this service you are bound to find millions upon millions of pages. Another way to find good free sites is to just ask the search engine directly for the movie you want, by adding the words “watch” to the beginning of the phrase and “online” to the end of the phrase, with your movie title in the middle. This is a good option if you don’t want to go through millions and millions of sites and just want to find a movie in particular.
